Canopy Pavilion
Designed on the edge of a proposed urban farm in Boulder, CO, the structure acts as a public gathering space for both farmers and urbanites. By providing opportunities for exploration through views and circulation, the pavilion encourages interaction with the building’s natural and built environments. The design mimics the beauty in the organization and organic nature of a forest while still referencing the overlapping urban grid.

Adjacent to the intersection of two major pedestrian paths, the pavilion is both a destination and a way station, connecting the urban grid to a natural setting. Visitors have a clear view into and beyond the pavilion from all locations on the pathway.
